And the Summer is about to get a little bit hotter (or cooler depending on your perspective) with the release of Tone Dogg Raw‘s 4th solo release, Hills and Windows on 7/31/17. The album is 13 songs of a very personal and intimate nature, however, the album still looks to be one of the most relatable releases to drop this year. The album is an autobiography of sorts dealing with theme such as finding inspiration from pain, dealing with depression, the excitement of a new love, picking up the pieces of oneself amongst hopelessness and rediscovering yourself through it all. Hills draws heavily from the wavy production of frequent Tone Dogg contributors EQ and Odd Job as well as a beat by Moodz Odyssey to create both the dark and light of the lyrics Tone weaves. The album pulsates with angst and melancholy, however, the moments of brevity and positivity give the perspective to the album; lights and shadows.
Not much as been leaked from the project yet, but the album’s lead single and music video, “Cry” will surface simultaneously with the album’s release next week. Pre-Order’s via iTunes, GooglePlay and Amazon Music. The project will also be released on physical limited pressing collectible media including 12″ vinyl, compact disc and casette tape.
